Last summer we tried growing a roma tomato plant.
Just planted (with help)
About a month later
About two months. You can see tomatoes starting to grow.
We had a problem where several of the bottoms turned brown before they were full grown.
A couple of weeks later
First successful tomato harvest!
This was a very rewarding experience. I was surprised that the plant gave us more tomatoes than I could keep up with for so little work. I had help planting it from my dog and neighbor kids. After that I only had to remember to water and pick the tomatoes when they were ready. Thanks for reading!
Here we have a bed of romaine lettuce, some steak and tomatoes cooked in the skillet covered in feta and chia seeds, broccoli, bell peppers, cheddar, and hummus
I got the recipe for these Vegan Pulled Pork sandwiches from Lorimer Street Kitchen.
I have had a hard time finding ways to use portobello mushrooms because they have so much moisture. Cooking them in the skillet in the oven worked very well. You can see they were pretty dry when I took them out.
I made this on a night where I forgot about dinner. I just threw some leftover carrots, broccoli, pre-cooked beets, and pine nuts in the skillet and cooked them with some coconut oil. I wasn’t sure if it would work out, but the flavors went nicely together and it was pretty filling.
Cornbread pancakes and sweet potatoes over the fire
I brought cornbread mix and almond milk and mixed them in a shaker. Everything turned out pretty well, except the sweet potatoes which took a little extra cooking.
Rinsed whole chicken with paprika and some peppercorns cooked in the slow cooker on high for about five hours.
